Plumbing has been in our family since 1940

In September 1933, Jack Griffiths became the manager of the Duncan branch of R.H. Ormond Co., a plumbing firm from Nanaimo. Jack became a partner with Ormond in 1936 and in 1940 Jack took over the local branch and stated Griffiths Plumbing in Duncan. Jack retired in 1970 and his son Gordon took over. Damon Griffiths, Gordon's grandson, took over upon Gord's retirement in 2012.

In April 1965, the plumbing shop moved from its original location at 275 Craig Street to a larger premises at 251 Government Street. A large showroom was built and at the time, it was the only bathroom showroom available in the Cowichan Valley. As the Cowichan Valley grew and more plumbing wholesalers and retailers moved to town, Griffiths decided to focus on what they did best: service work and renovations. The retail aspect of the business was closed down in December of 2016 and we moved to our current location at 104A- 5462 Trans Canada Hwy.

Although the business has changed and evolved with each generation of Griffiths at the helm, our values have always remained the same: integrity, honesty, great service and quality of workmanship. It is these core values that provide top value to our customers. We have a strong desire to serve the community we live in and its members to the best of our abilities. We take what we do very seriously and we take pride in having satisfied customers with every job. This is the reason we have been around for over 81 years. We use word-of-mouth referrals as our most valuable form of advertising, so if you have a great story please share it with your family, friends and neighbours.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve our community for generations.
